Built in the year 325, a stone fortress formed a mighty bastion that demonstrated the military might of the emperor and the empire. With a historically accurate, personal and imaginative storyline, supported by technological tools to fuel wonder, a potentially dull subject matter is brought to life in the RAM museum.
Thanks to a scenographic trail, including archaeological masterpieces unlocked for the first time, short films and immersive projections. RAM takes visitors back to daily life in a Late Roman fort.
The museum is located in the beautiful abbot park. This also offers the opportunity to have lunch outside in fine weather and romp around on the brand new playground equipment. In the autumn and winter months, we can easily accommodate schools inside.
Besides guided tours and customised city walks, the museum also offers all kinds of workshops and pupil bundles. On a practical level too, our museum lends itself well to hosting schools. In addition to ample parking for coaches, the museum is also easily accessible by public transport or from Bredene.
