Horizon asbl takes privacy seriously. The following principles underpin the way we observe your privacy:

We appreciate the trust you place in us by providing us with your personal data. We will always use your personal data in a fair way that does justice to the trust you place in us.
You are entitled to clear information on how we use your personal data. We will always communicate transparently with you about what personal information we collect and why we collect it, what we do with it, with whom we share the information and who you can contact if you have any concerns.
We will take all reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse and keep it secure.
We will comply with all applicable data protection laws and regulations and we will cooperate with the relevant authorities. For cases not covered by data protection legislation, we will act in accordance with generally accepted data protection principles.

What does this Privacy Statement cover?
This Privacy Statement applies to personal data of customers and users collected by Horizon vzw in Belgium in connection with the products and services it offers. This includes data collected offline through customer service, as well as data collected online through our marketing campaigns, through advertising cookies on our websites and on our ‘branded’ pages.

This Privacy Statement also applies to Horizon content being promotions and advertisements of Horizon services or animations that we (or a third party on our behalf) may display on third-party websites, platforms and applications (‘Third Party Sites’) based on your user information from this website. These websites also have their own Privacy Statements and terms and conditions. We encourage you to read these before visiting these websites.

Furthermore, on the Horizon site you will find a number of links to third-party websites, such as those of our suppliers. Although these websites have been selected with care, we are not responsible for the processing of personal data via these websites. This Privacy Statement does not apply to the use of such websites.

Your consent
By using a Horizon Site or otherwise providing personal data to Horizon, you consent to Horizon asbl collecting, using and sharing your personal data in accordance with this Privacy Statement and the Cookie Statement. If you do not agree to your personal data being used in this way, do not use the Horizon site or otherwise provide information to Horizon.

Horizon asbl will only collect, use or share your personal data in compliance with applicable laws and regulations. In most cases, we will seek your consent, but in some cases there are other grounds justifying the processing of your personal data. Children

Most Horizon site are designed and intended for use by adults (teachers, responsible sports and other organisations, etc...). If you are under 16, you should review the terms of this Privacy Statement with a parent or guardian to ensure that you understand and accept them.

Where a Horizon Site is intended for use by a younger audience, we will seek consent from a parent, guardian and/or teacher and management before collecting personal data where we deem it necessary or where required under applicable data protection laws and regulations.

If we discover that we have collected information from minors without the consent of a parent, guardian or teacher and/or management when such consent was required, we will delete that information as soon as possible.

What information we collect

Horizon asbl collects various types of personal data and special categories of personal data (such as about your health and other sensitive data). Among other things, we collect the following personal data about you (where applicable), including from the following, various sources:

We collect information directly from you when you choose to take advantage of our offers and programmes, purchase a product or service from us, call us or otherwise contact us or otherwise provide information directly to us. These types of information we may collect directly from you include:

  • first and last name
  • address
  • e-mail address
  • telephone number
  • gender
  • demographic information
  • health information, such as health information related to your stay here at Horizon (e.g. allergies, etc)
  • the messages and other content (such as videos and photos) that you enter on Horizon site or via email.
  • other personal data that you voluntarily provide to us
  • social media login, if you choose to create a Horizon account for mobile applications via your social media (such as Facebook) (your login details will then be imported via your social network account)


Information we collect automatically through our website

We (and third parties collecting data on behalf of Horizon) use cookies and other tools (such as web analytic tools and pixel tags, hereinafter collectively ‘Cookies’) to collect information about you when you use the Horizon Site, subject to the terms of this Privacy Statement and Cookie Statement and applicable data protection laws and regulations. We do this to assess how our websites or mobile applications are used, to personalise your experience and to offer you tailored communications, including online content, on the Horizon Site.
The types of information we may collect automatically include:

  • the websites you visited before arriving at a Horizon site

What do we use your data for?
We use your personal data only for the purpose for which we are authorised to use it:

  • We use your info because we want to give you the best service as a customer and we can't do that without it

Who do we share your private data with?

In principle, we do not share your personal data with anyone externally.

Third parties

There are also a number of trusted third parties with whom we can share your personal data. This concerns:

  • our advertising, marketing and promotional agencies to help us deliver and analyze effective advertising campaigns and actions
  • law enforcement or government agencies when they have followed legal proceedings to ask us to disclose the information
  • external service providers to Horizon, such as animation suppliers with the aim of being able to communicate easily with you
  • web analytics tools, such as Google
  • social networks. The Horizon site will provide you with social plugins from various social networks in certain situations. If you choose to communicate with a social network, such as Facebook or Twitter (for example when creating an account), your activities on our website or via our apps will also be made available on that social network. If you are logged into one of these social networks during your visit to one of our websites or apps, or communicate via one of the social plugins, based on your privacy settings, the social network can add this data to your corresponding profile on this network. If you wish to avoid parts of your data like this, log out of your social network before visiting or using the Horizon site. You can also change the privacy settings if possible. Unless otherwise stated, we process and store your personal data in the European Union.

How long do we keep your privacy data?
We keep your personal data for five years from your last contact with us, such as the date of your last purchase or the last time you used one of our mobile applications, unless a longer or shorter retention period is required by law or is necessary in connection with legal processes.

Securing your personal data
We take all reasonable precautions to protect your personal data. Access to your personal data is limited to prevent unauthorized access, alteration or misuse and is only allowed to our employees and advisors on a ‘ need-to-know ’ basis.

  • you no longer want to be approached by us
  • you want a copy of the personal data we have about you
  • you want us to correct, update or delete your personal data in our records
  • you want to withdraw your consent to the processing of your personal data
  • you want to report misuse of your personal data
  • you believe that there is a data leak
  • To help us process your request, you must provide us with your full first and last name and contact details.

Changes to our privacy policy
We may change this Privacy Statement from time to time by posting the updated version of the Privacy Statement on the Horizon site. When we publish changes to this statement, we will adjust the date of the 'last update' at the top of this statement. When it comes to extensive changes, we will make a more noticeable notification (including, for certain services, by sending an email notification of the changes to the privacy statement). We will not change your rights under this privacy statement to your detriment without your permission.
